Three murders were recorded within a 24-hour period in the Conciliación and Marconi neighbourhoods of Montevideo, in incidents that police are seeking to clarify.

Over the past day, three people were killed in episodes of armed violence that occurred at different locations in the Uruguayan capital, according to reporting by Montevideo Portal.
On Tuesday afternoon, a cyclist died after being struck by a bullet while travelling along the streets of Torricelli and Salustio. The man became caught in the middle of a shooting that was taking place at the location.
Later, in the Conciliación neighbourhood, an attack from a red car left one person dead and one wounded. A 31-year-old individual was sitting in front of a house when occupants of the vehicle fired at him repeatedly. His brother, aged 38, was inside the house and was also hit by the gunfire. The younger of the two died in hospital shortly after being taken there. The other suffered a neck wound and continues to receive medical attention. Both had prior criminal records: the deceased had three and the survivor had accumulated thirteen.
In the early morning, a third body was found in the Marconi area, at the intersection of Pasaje H with Luis Botaro street. The area had been the scene of a firearms confrontation.
Police investigators are at the various locations attempting to reconstruct the events and identify the perpetrators of the crimes.
