Triple homicide in Cerro: "Ricardito" transferred to maximum security prison
Following the triple murder at a drug dealing point in Cerro, Ricardo Cáceres Correa was transferred to the maximum security facility at Unit No. 25 of the former Comcar.

Sources from the Ministry of the Interior confirmed to elobservador.com.uy that Ricardo Cáceres Correa, known in criminal circles as "Ricardito", was transferred from Libertad Prison to Unit No. 25, the maximum security facility at the former Comcar. The measure was adopted in the context of the triple homicide registered on Sunday in the Cerro neighbourhood of Montevideo, allegedly linked to the criminal organisation he leads from prison.
The move was initially reported by Subrayado (Channel 10) and subsequently confirmed by El Observador. According to sources, authorities decided to intensify isolation measures against Cáceres Correa to prevent possible reprisals arising from the triple murder.
Who is "Ricardito"
Cáceres Correa is the half-brother of criminal Luis Alberto "Betito" Suárez. He has accumulated several criminal records linked to drug trafficking, bribery and other crimes, and has been deprived of liberty for several years for organising drug trafficking activities and money laundering.
The Sunday attack on Egipto and Estados Unidos streets
The shooting occurred at 22:00 hours on Sunday at a residence located on the corner of Egipto and Estados Unidos streets in Cerro. According to a statement from the Montevideo Police Headquarters, a group of criminals arrived in a private vehicle and opened fire on the house.
As a result of the attack, a 35-year-old woman, a 29-year-old man and a third victim whose identity had not been confirmed at the time of publication died at the scene. Two other men were injured and were taken to a nearby medical centre.
Scientific Police personnel worked at the scene and located more than a dozen bullet casings, in addition to seizing a firearm.
Residents of the area told Telemundo (Channel 12) that a drug dealing point had been operating from that residence for approximately one year.
Raids and four arrests
As part of the investigation, the Departmental Anti-Drug Brigade carried out several raids linked to "Ricardito's" organisation in the Cerro area, including the residence where the triple homicide occurred. The operations resulted in the arrest of four people and the seizure of ammunition and drugs, according to Telemundo (Channel 12).
The investigation of the case is being handled by the Homicides Department, under the jurisdiction of the Homicides Prosecution Office, 4th Shift.
