Drunk driver hits motorcyclist in San Juan de Colón and flees following police pursuit
A man in an apparent state of intoxication deliberately struck a motorcyclist in Ayacucho municipality and was arrested after a police pursuit.

A man presumed to be intoxicated was arrested in flagrante delicto by officers of the Bolivarian National Police Force (CPNB) after running down a motorcyclist and sparking a chase through the streets of Ayacucho municipality, lanacionweb.com reported.
The incident unfolded when a local resident went to the police station to report that her father had been struck by a pickup truck. According to information obtained, the now-detained man deliberately reversed the vehicle against the victim and the motorcycle he was riding, causing significant injuries to his right leg, in addition to material damage to the motorcycle.
Following the report, units assigned to Ayacucho Municipal Police Station immediately activated a search operation in the city centre. Upon locating the pickup truck, officers ordered the driver to stop; however, he ignored the order and attempted to escape, triggering the pursuit.
The operation concluded on Spain Avenue, where uniformed officers set up a roadblock to intercept the vehicle. At that point the individual was neutralised and apprehended. Officers detected alcohol on the detainee's breath.
The man, along with the retained pickup truck, was placed in custody at the police station and handed over to the Public Ministry for corresponding legal proceedings.
