Four police officers in Venezuela have been arrested and face dismissal after allegedly stealing a safe from rubble left by two earthquakes that struck the country last week. The safe contained United States dollars, according to DR citing The Guardian.
The officers belong to the CICPC, Venezuela's body of scientific investigations. The institution has suspended the agents from their duties and opened a disciplinary process with a view to their removal.
Meanwhile, rescue efforts continue in the country, where people missing among the rubble are still being sought. The earthquakes have claimed the lives of nearly 2,000 people.
