Couple shot dead on motorcycle on San Martín Avenue in Caracas
A man and a woman were shot while riding a motorcycle in Caracas in the early hours of Monday 28 September. Both died; the Cicpc is investigating the double homicide.
Two dead after armed attack on San Martín Avenue
According to laprensademonagas.com, a man and a woman were shot dead in the early hours of Monday 28 September on San Martín Avenue, Libertador municipality, Caracas. The victims were identified as Isaac Arturo Viñoles Castro and Barbara Regalado.
Both were travelling on a motorcycle in front of the Bloque de Armas when unknown individuals opened fire on them. Viñoles Castro died at the scene after receiving multiple gunshot wounds. Regalado was seriously injured and was rushed to Dr. Miguel Pérez Carreño Hospital in La Yaguara, where she died later.
Personnel from the Scientific, Criminal and Forensic Investigation Corps (Cicpc), officers from the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) and paramedics attended the scene to conduct initial proceedings. Officials from the National Forensic Medicine and Sciences Service (Senamecf) transferred the bodies to their headquarters in Bello Monte.
Cicpc detectives opened an investigation to determine the motive for the double homicide, establish the circumstances of the incident and identify those responsible. Unofficially, the hypothesis of revenge over jealousy is being considered, although authorities are not ruling out any line of investigation.
