PNB destroys two aircraft and narco camp in Apure, border zone with Colombia
The Bolivarian National Police destroyed two aircraft and a clandestine camp in Apure state during an anti-drugs operation on the border with Colombia.

The Bolivarian National Police (PNB) destroyed two aircraft and a clandestine camp linked to drug trafficking in Apure state, in the south-east of the country and bordering Colombia, according to a report on Friday by the Ministry of Interior and Justice. This was reported by eje21.com.co, citing the EFE agency.
The Ministry specified in a publication on Instagram that the destroyed aircraft bore registrations YV-897 and YV-015: one white and the other grey with white and red stripes. Both were incinerated during the operation.
The discovery took place in wooded areas of Codazzi parish, between Puerto Páez and the Buena Vista del Meta sector in Pedro Camejo municipality. There officials also located a clandestine camp in an abandoned state that functioned as an operations centre, along with 400 litres of presumed fuel of illicit origin intended for the supply of aircraft used for drug trafficking.
Since the promulgation of the Law for Control of Comprehensive Defence of Airspace in 2012, Venezuela has destroyed more than 430 aircraft, according to data from the Armed Forces released last March. In 2025 alone, the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB) destroyed approximately 40 aircraft linked to drug trafficking, according to the Strategic Operational Command.
In that same year, Venezuelan authorities seized more than 65 tonnes of drugs, of which 65 per cent corresponded to cocaine destined for European markets, according to the National Anti-Drug Superintendence.
In February last, Venezuela and the United States agreed to cooperate in the fight against regional drug trafficking during a meeting in Caracas between interim president Delcy Rodríguez and the head of the United States Southern Command, Francis Donovan.
