Police in Spain are investigating the deaths of an Irish woman, 45, and her husband, 50, at a coastal resort in Cullera, south of Valencia.

Spanish police are investigating the deaths of an Irish woman and her husband at a coastal residential estate in Cullera, a town of roughly 25,000 people south of Valencia, RTÉ News reports.
The bodies of the woman, aged 45, and the man, aged 50, were discovered yesterday afternoon at a gated community called Cap Blanc — a popular beach and residential area near the town's lighthouse, with villas and apartments overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
A Civil Guard homicide unit based in Valencia is leading the inquiry. A Civil Guard spokesman said the first officers at the scene found evidence suggesting the couple may not have died of natural causes, prompting the deployment of specialist investigators. "Nothing has yet been ruled out," the spokesman added.
Police have not excluded the possibility that the deaths were accidental, including a scenario involving the jacuzzi on the property. A water sample from the jacuzzi has been sent to a specialist laboratory for analysis.
The bodies were discovered by the couple's own children, who then alerted the authorities. The children are currently being supported by social workers and a psychologist.
Ireland's Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed it is aware of the case and is providing consular assistance.
Local police were mobilised alongside the Civil Guard, which holds primary responsibility for the ongoing investigation.
The Spanish Red Cross stated it had activated a psychosocial emergency response team and deployed two psychologists to the scene.
