Jason Hutch extradited from Lanzarote, charged with serious organised crime

Jason Hutch, son of Gerry "The Monk" Hutch, has been extradited from Spain and charged with serious organised crime offences in Dublin.

Jason Hutch, son of Gerry "The Monk" Hutch, arrived at Casement Aerodrome on Thursday evening aboard a Government jet, Dublin Live reports, following his extradition from the Spanish island of Lanzarote.

Gardaí confirmed the arrest in a statement: "A male (in his late 30s), has been arrested and charged this evening by An Garda Síochána in relation to Serious Organised Crime offences."

Hutch was originally arrested by Spanish authorities in Lanzarote on 8 April 2026, on foot of a European Arrest Warrant issued by the Irish High Court. A judicial process in Spain subsequently cleared the way for his extradition to Ireland.

The operation was carried out by Gardaí attached to the Extradition Unit of the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (GNBCI), with logistical support provided by the Irish Air Corps. A Garda convoy transported him from Baldonnel Aerodrome following the aircraft's landing.

He was brought before a special sitting of Dublin District Court at the Criminal Courts of Justice on Thursday, 10 September 2026, at 7.00pm.

Hutch is the sixth person to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice on charges arising from the criminal investigation conducted by the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
