Armed Intruders Impersonate Police in Early-Morning Albion Heights Attack

Jamaica-gleaner.com reports that Yallahs police in St Thomas are investigating an early Saturday morning attack in which gunmen posed as police officers to gain entry to a man's home in Albion Heights.

At approximately 3:00 a.m., the 58-year-old man was alone on his premises when the armed men knocked on his bedroom door and ordered him outside.

As he opened the door, one intruder entered and struck him in the head and mouth with a firearm, police said. The man reportedly recognised they were not officers and grappled with the intruder, during which a shot was fired that struck a wall.

The victim then struggled outside the house armed with a machete, where he encountered two additional gunmen who had been waiting nearby. The men fired shots at him, but he managed to escape without sustaining any further injuries.

The matter has been reported to the Yallahs police, who are continuing their investigation.
