Crime syndicate member shot dead by police at St Elizabeth construction site

Construction worker killed in police confrontation in Goshen, St Elizabeth

The Jamaica Observer reports that a construction worker identified as Ricardo Foster, also known as "Richie feelings", was fatally shot by police at a worksite in Goshen, St Elizabeth on Friday morning.

Officers went to the construction site at approximately 11:00 am in search of Foster when he allegedly drew a firearm. Police opened fire, hitting Foster, who was transported to hospital and pronounced dead on arrival. A .45 pistol loaded with five cartridges was recovered at the scene.

Investigators described Foster as a known violence producer and said he had been implicated in several serious offences. He was also listed as a person of interest.

According to police, Foster was a member of a criminal syndicate operating across Goshen, Braes River, Elim, Mountainside, and surrounding communities within the Santa Cruz policing area. Intelligence linked him and his associates to organised criminal activity including the illicit guns-for-drugs trade, motor vehicle theft rings, break-ins, and lottery scamming.

The shooting is the second fatal police confrontation in St Elizabeth within days. On Monday night, Jahmain Brown, otherwise called "Dada", was shot and killed by officers in Chocolate Hole near Junction, also in St Elizabeth. A firearm was similarly seized during that incident.
