Murder suspect 'Richie' shot dead by police in Christiana, Manchester

A man known as 'Richie', wanted for a shopkeeper's murder and on bail for another homicide, was killed in a police shootout in Christiana on Monday.

A man known by the alias 'Richie', who was wanted for murder and on bail for a separate homicide, was fatally shot by police on Wildman Street in Christiana, Manchester, on Monday afternoon, jamaica-star.com reports.

According to police, officers acting on intelligence arrived at a bar on Wildman Street at approximately 3:15 pm in search of the suspect. They were confronted by an armed man, who was subsequently shot dead. A firearm was recovered at the scene.

Police said 'Richie' had been out on bail in connection with the September 4, 2024 murder of 29-year-old Romario White, who was killed at a bar in Christiana.

He was also wanted for the July 24, 2026 murder of a shopkeeper in Alston, northwest Clarendon. Police believe that killing was a contract murder and have identified 'Richie' as the shooter.
