A post mortem examination has revealed that Terrian Porter, 44, a businesswoman from Wallen Avenue in Greater Portmore, St Catherine, died from a wound to the neck, jamaica-gleaner.com reports, citing police investigators.

The examination was conducted the day before the report was published. Porter's body had been discovered on September 1, after neighbours detected a foul odour coming from her residence.

Officers who responded found the house securely locked. With assistance from the Jamaica Fire Brigade, they gained entry and found Porter lying on a bed in a decomposed state.

She had been reported missing prior to the discovery.

The Portmore Criminal Investigation Branch is leading the investigation into her death.
