Wanted man shot dead, three officers wounded in Mount Salem, St James
Romario Brown, known as Jerry, was killed after allegedly opening fire on police in Mount Salem early Wednesday. Three officers were injured in the confrontation.

Shooting on Crawford Street leaves one dead, three officers hurt
Jamaica Observer reports that a wanted man was shot and killed and three police officers injured during an alleged shootout in Mount Salem, St James, shortly after 3:00 am on Wednesday.
The man, identified as Romario Brown, also known as Jerry, allegedly opened fire on a police team conducting an operation along Crawford Street. Officers returned fire, and Brown was subsequently found with gunshot wounds.
He was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A firearm was recovered at the scene.
Three members of the police team sustained injuries during the confrontation. The extent of those injuries had not been ascertained at the time of reporting.
The Independent Commission of Investigations was on scene conducting inquiries. The inspectorate arm of the Jamaica Constabulary Force was also notified.
Brown is said to have been wanted by police in connection with a number of crimes.
