A Jamaican national was killed in Chaguanas on Tuesday morning following a fight at a bar near Busy Corner, guardian.co.tt reports. A second man, also believed to be Jamaican, was detained by police in connection with the incident.
Senior Superintendent Bhagwandeen, head of the Central Division, said the identity of the deceased had not yet been established. Police believe he was a Jamaican national based on information gathered from people in the area.
The second man, a 31-year-old Jamaican national, sustained a chop wound to his head and was taken to hospital under police guard.
According to police, the two men were involved in a scuffle around 7:45 am inside a bar near Busy Corner, during which they attacked each other with a knife and a Chinese chopper. Investigations are ongoing.
