Donna Ann Reece, 38, was found dead at a house on Clayton Lane in Newcastle-under-Lyme on Monday, 12 October, The Sun reports. A 47-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent was arrested on the same day on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

Detectives are continuing their investigation into what officers have described as a sudden death. Specialist officers have been assigned to support Donna's family as the inquiry progresses.

Her family issued a statement expressing their grief. "We are heartbroken to learn of the loss of Donna," they said. "We cannot come to terms with this. We would like to ask for privacy at this time whilst the investigation is ongoing."

Police are appealing for information from members of the public, including CCTV or doorbell footage that may assist with enquiries.
