Ex-NFL wide receiver sentenced to probation after Miami boxing event shooting

According to ABC News US, former NFL star Antonio Brown pleaded guilty Friday to aggravated assault with a firearm, stemming from a 2025 shooting outside a celebrity boxing match in Miami.

Judge Marisa Tinkler Mendez sentenced Brown to three years of probation. Conditions include weekly counseling sessions and a prohibition on possessing a firearm. Brown may seek early termination of probation at approximately the halfway point of his sentence, provided all terms are met.

Under the plea agreement, entered in state court in Miami, Brown will carry no criminal conviction on record. The reduced charge allows the All-Pro wide receiver to avoid prison time entirely.

Brown had originally faced an attempted murder charge. Police say he grabbed a handgun from a security staffer at the event and fired two shots at a man he had been involved in a fistfight with earlier that evening.
