Horry County manhunt after Longs drug operation nets new charges

Horry County police are actively searching for Wesley Predelus, 26, in connection with a large-scale narcotics operation on Freemont Road in Longs, South Carolina, wmbfnews.com reports. The September 30 bust followed a three-month drug investigation and has since produced additional charges and newly identified suspects.

Predelus — described as 6 feet 3 inches tall and 205 pounds — is wanted on one count of trafficking methamphetamine, involving 200 grams or more but less than 400 grams. Authorities have urged the public not to approach or attempt to detain him. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Horry County Police Department directly or submit tips to [email protected].

Along with the renewed search for Predelus, police released updated details on what was recovered during the operation and identified additional suspects, including Raymond Hypolite, whose charges were announced as part of the latest update.

A separate suspect, Shaheem Williams, faces charges of third-degree assault and battery, two counts of pointing and presenting a firearm at a person, and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a certain crime. Police specified that these charges are unrelated to the narcotics investigation.

At a news conference following the September 30 arrests, department officials said no shots were fired during the operation. Law enforcement described the bust as a direct result of the department's sustained commitment to addressing community concerns about gang violence and drug activity in the area.

Investigators indicated they are specifically targeting individuals linked to gang violence and gang-related participation. Officials stated that community members had raised concerns about crime in the region, and that operations of this kind demonstrate the department's responsiveness to those concerns.

Police have confirmed that further arrests, additional charges, and more seizures remain possible as the investigation continues.
