Two stabbed at Dixon corn maze, suspect taken into custody
A 28-year-old man from Sacramento was arrested following a stabbing at the Cool Patch Pumpkins corn maze in Dixon, California, the Solano County Sheriff's Office announced Saturday, abc7news.com reports.
The attack took place at around 9 p.m. Friday at the maze on the 6100 block of Dixon Avenue West. Two people were injured: a 19-year-old woman from Dixon and a 20-year-old man from Vallejo. Both were transported to hospital for treatment.
Deputies cleared the corn maze following the stabbings, and a Sheriff's Office spokesperson confirmed the suspected weapon was recovered at the scene.
Cool Patch Pumpkins, which holds Guinness World Records for the largest temporary corn maze — recognised in both 2007 and 2014 — issued a statement Saturday describing the stabbing as an isolated incident and stating there was no ongoing threat to public safety.
The farm said it would continue to operate as normal for the remainder of the season through November.
