A 16-year veteran of York Regional Police has been arrested on seven criminal charges, including breach of trust, following a joint investigation with Peel Regional Police, the Toronto Sun Crime reports.

He faces charges of breach of trust, unauthorized use of a computer, possession of property obtained by crime, possession for the purpose of trafficking, attempting to obstruct justice, possession of a counterfeit stamp, and a second breach of trust count related to accessing data.

Wong joined York Regional Police in 2009 and most recently served as a frontline patrol sergeant. He has been suspended with pay following his arrest.
