Diego Sebastián Rosen, Argentine detained for the quintuple murder in Atizapán

According to reports from exitoina.perfil.com, the government of Atizapán de Zaragoza confirmed that the General Prosecutor's Office of Justice of the State of Mexico, in coordination with federal authorities and those from Mexico City, detained Diego Sebastián Rosen and a man identified as Gerardo "N". Both remain under investigation for their alleged participation in the multiple murder of musician and producer Jonathan Meléndez, his pregnant wife, their three-year-old daughter, a domestic worker and the family's pet.
Federal sources indicated that the main line of investigation points to theft as the motive for the crime. Rosen, of Argentine origin, was a business partner of the victim—identified with the initials J.S.M.O.—in a company dedicated to renting properties through digital platforms, identified as NOMAD Adventures, with operations in Valle de Bravo. According to the same sources, he would have taken advantage of mutual trust to access the apartment with the family's consent before carrying out the attack.
Gerardo "N" would have driven the vehicle with which both arrived at the Grand Viure residential complex, located in Zona Esmeralda, Atizapán de Zaragoza. The two detained individuals were immediately placed at the disposal of the judicial authority.
The image of Diego Sebastián Rosen was circulated after a video leaked on social networks showing him inside the lift of the building where Meléndez resided. Based on that material, information about the man suspected of being the perpetrator of the crime began to circulate.
The sole survivor of the multiple homicide was a child under six years old, son of Jonathan Meléndez and his wife Ana Paula, who managed to stay safe by hiding under a bed. Preliminary reports indicate that the child had no visible injuries.
In its official statement, the State of Mexico Prosecutor's Office outlined the facts as follows: "On 1 September, at 23:50 hours, the municipal police of Atizapán de Zaragoza reported the discovery of four victims deprived of life—one of them four months pregnant—as well as the presence of a minor six years of age alive and without signs of violence, inside an apartment in a residential tower within the Grand Viure subdivision, located in Zona Esmeralda."
The same office detailed the profile of the victims and the circumstances of the discovery: "The victims, a male aged 38 years, music producer and composer with initials J.S.M.O., his wife aged 35 and pregnant, their three-year-old daughter, a female aged 21 years; even a canine, the family's pet, which was also found bound. Two of the victims were found bound, both and the minor with gunshot wounds to the head, whilst the fourth victim presented a gunshot wound to the back."
The Prosecutor's Office determined that the facts occurred approximately between 17:30 and 19:40 hours on Tuesday 1 September. According to the office, investigations made it possible to "establish the probable participation of two males who would have taken advantage of the relationship of trust that one of them had with the victims to access the residence."
The office announced that, at the appropriate procedural moment, it will publicly reveal the circumstances in which the investigated facts were committed, as well as the legal situation of the two detained individuals.
