A 33-year-old man was apprehended in the early hours of Saturday following a gender violence incident at a residence on Teniente Primero Ibáñez street in Concepción del Uruguay, according to elonce.com. The physical assaults targeted his 35-year-old ex-partner and her teenage son, and also caused significant material damage to the home.
The incident occurred around 1 a.m. Police from the First Police Station responded to the location after receiving a call for assistance due to a violence situation inside the property.
Victim had been in separation process for a week
According to a complaint filed by the woman, a discussion with her ex-partner quickly escalated into physical aggression. When the victim's 16-year-old son attempted to intervene to defend her, the accused also struck him.
Police intervention allowed the situation to be brought under control and the aggressor to be restrained. He was initially taken to the Records Division for identification.
Table, television and door panels destroyed
In addition to the assaults, the man caused substantial damage to various parts of the property: he broke a table, a television located in the kitchen and several door panels in different rooms.

The victim filed a formal complaint at the police station and the proceedings were handed over to the judiciary. Following a directive from the Auxiliary Prosecutor on duty, the man was held in custody, charged with the suspected offence of property damage in a context of gender violence.
