Anti-drug operation in Florencio Varela and Quilmes: 18 arrested and bunkers demolished

Thirty raids dismantle drug network in Buenos Aires suburbs
An operation deployed in Florencio Varela and Quilmes resulted in the detention of 18 people and the seizure of narcotics, firearms and cash, according to elargentinodiario.com.ar. The procedures—30 raids in total, which included three fields, three bunkers and one emergency raid—aimed to dismantle an alleged organisation dedicated to the supply, distribution and marketing of drugs with bunker-type points of sale.
The investigation began on 29 August and was based on surveillance tasks, follow-ups, territorial surveys, filming and analysis of communications. The results made it possible to establish the internal structure of the gang, with differentiated roles for each member.
Drugs, weapons and cash seized
Among the seized assets, 3.8 kilogrammes of marijuana, 307.4 grammes of cocaine hydrochloride and 204.8 grammes of paste base were counted, in addition to a granulated substance compatible with a cutting agent. The security forces also seized six firearms: five revolvers of different calibres and a Glock pistol calibre 9 millimetres, together with 28 rounds of ammunition.
The confiscation also included 16 mobile phones, three handy-type communication equipment, two SIM cards and three digital scales. Regarding cash, 2,900 dollars, 621,500 Argentine pesos and 122,000 guaraní were found.
The investigators also searched a motor vehicle, a motorcycle and a motorcycle frame with suppressed numbering. Two ballistic vests with police holsters and erased numbering, notebooks with notes and various elements linked to the fractioning and sale of narcotics were also seized.
The alleged leader, indicated for hired killing and homicide
The main arrested person is Nelson Adrián Prieto Grance, 24 years old, known as "Paraná" or "Paranacito", indicated in the investigation as the alleged leader of the organisation. According to the police report, Prieto Grance would also be linked to various acts of hired killing and homicide.
Alongside him, Matías Damián Rosales was detained, accused of alleged possession of narcotics for purposes of trafficking. During the operation, Rocío Belén López, 36 years old, was also identified, who was serving home detention in a case related to Law 23.737, although she was not found at the scene at the time of the raids.
Bunkers demolished to prevent their reuse
Once the procedures were concluded, the bunkers that had been identified as points of sale were torn down with the participation of municipal personnel, with the aim of preventing them from functioning again as drug marketing centres.
