Drug raid in Anthering: plantation discovered behind concealed wall

According to meinbezirk.at, investigators discovered a cannabis facility concealed behind a double wall during a house search in Anthering, containing seven growing tents. Officers seized 13 kilograms of cannabis herb as well as by-products such as cannabis resin and cannabis oil.

The search took place in December 2025 and targeted a then 29-year-old man and his partner from Salzburg city. The seven growing tents were located in an adjoining barn, which was concealed by a double wall. A police dog detected the narcotics.

In addition to the drugs, officers also seized prohibited weapons, Nazi memorabilia and several mobile phones. Cash in the high four-figure range was also confiscated.

The now 30-year-old from the Flachgau region has been held at Salzburg remand prison since then. In the course of further investigations, police identified around 20 sub-dealers and drug consumers. According to police information, the man is said to have produced approximately 50 kilograms of cannabis in 2024 and 2025, generating a mid-five-figure cash sum in the process — funds with which he and his partner financed their livelihood.

The 29-year-old partner is accused of assisting the man by purchasing cannabis seeds and growing equipment. She is being prosecuted on bail.
