According to vienna.at, a police operation in Vienna-Floridsdorf escalated on Monday morning. Three officers were injured in the incident, and two subsequently required hospital treatment and were unable to continue their shift.

The operation was triggered by the enforcement of outstanding administrative fines against a 20-year-old man. Officers from the Floridsdorf city police command attended his residential address for this purpose.

The man allegedly behaved aggressively from the outset and refused to cooperate with the official action. According to police, he did not comply with repeated requests from the officers.

A 16-year-old girl was also present in the flat, who initially attempted to calm the 20-year-old. However, the situation escalated further: the man allegedly physically attacked the police officers, whereupon the officers used physical force.
