Wels public prosecutor's office discontinues proceedings over "foreigners out" song

The Wels public prosecutor's office has discontinued investigations against four members of the Freedom Party Youth who sang the song "L'amour toujours" with the text "Deutschland den Deutschen, Ausländer raus!" while intoxicated in a pub in Gosau (Gmunden district). This is reported by Der Standard.

The authority justified the step by stating that the text "neither calls for violence nor incites hatred or insults a protected group of people in a manner that violates human dignity".

According to Der Standard, three of the four affected members had been charged. Proceedings against all four have now been concluded without further consequences.

Investigations into a similar matter are meanwhile still ongoing in Linz.
