After an accident in Prinzersdorf, a 27-year-old Austrian fled across the Pielach River. Police found forged documents and drugs in the vehicle.

As 5min.at reports, several patrols from the St. Pölten district were called to Prinzersdorf in Lower Austria on 4 June 2026 at around 18:30. A vehicle lay on its roof on Auweg; a witness had already pulled the driver from the wreck before the driver headed towards the Pielach River and crossed the river in an unknown direction.
In the accident vehicle, officers secured a wallet, a mobile telephone, tablets, drugs, a forged driving licence and a forged Serbian identity card.
After extensive investigations, police identified a 27-year-old Austrian citizen from Waidhofen an der Ybbs as the driver. At around 22:20, they found him at an address in the municipality of Hafnerbach. He admitted to a traffic accident.
The breathalyser test was negative. Because the man appeared to be severely impaired, he was examined by an official doctor. He refused to provide a blood sample; the official doctor nonetheless determined his unfitness to drive. The 27-year-old is being reported to both the St. Pölten public prosecutor's office and the responsible district administrative authority.
