According to tt.com, citing police, a 55-year-old Tyrolean woman from Wenns lost more than €10,000 to investment fraudsters. In February, the woman came across what appeared to be a lucrative investment offer through an advertisement on social media. After entering her personal data there, an unknown woman contacted her by telephone and posed as a financial adviser.

Subsequently, the 55-year-old transferred a five-figure sum in total across several partial payments to various accounts. When she wanted to withdraw her credit, the fraudsters demanded a five-figure sum once again. The Tyrolean woman did not comply with this demand and instead filed a report with police.
