Conviction in Innsbruck: €34,500 fine for Ochsenknecht
The Innsbruck Regional Court has sentenced German actor and reality television star Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht to a fine of €34,500 for serious fraud. According to n-tv.de, the judgment was based on a hotel bill in Austria that remained unpaid for years.
The judgment is not yet final. Neither the prosecution nor the defence made any statement immediately after the hearing, as reported by the Tiroler Tageszeitung and news agency APA.
According to his Austrian lawyer, Ochsenknecht took responsibility for his actions but did not plead guilty to the charges. The 34-year-old did not attend the hearing in person but was represented by his solicitor.
The origins of the case date back to 2021: Ochsenknecht celebrated his 30th birthday at a four-star hotel in the Tyrolean border region with Bavaria. The bill that accumulated, which came to just under €14,000, initially remained unpaid. Only after he was searched for by means of an arrest warrant and arrested in Hamburg at the end of June 2025 was the amount settled. He was then extradited to Austria and released on bail.
At the first hearing in August 2025, Ochsenknecht had attended in person. The responsible judge decided at that time not to pass judgment and instead apply a diversion – a procedure permitted under Austrian law that was intended to conclude the case following payment of a fine of €18,000. However, the prosecution successfully appealed against this decision, whereupon the proceedings continued.
The fine of €18,000 already transferred will be credited against the sentence now imposed. Ochsenknecht would therefore only need to pay the remaining difference amount.
