22-year-old hospitalised after ketamine overdose – ex-partner admits to drug trafficking

As reported by meinbezirk.at, a 22-year-old woman from Ried district was admitted to Braunau Hospital on 1 June with a ketamine overdose. The drug was reportedly given to her by her 28-year-old ex-partner.

The young woman's father subsequently called the police and accused his daughter's ex-partner of drug trafficking. Officers carried out a voluntary search of the 28-year-old's flat. During the search, they discovered 1.6 kilograms of ketamine and nine grams of cannabis in a plastic bag.

The suspect confessed to having purchased the seized ketamine for resale. On the orders of Ried im Innkreis Public Prosecutor's Office, he was arrested the same day and transferred to Ried Correctional Institution, where he has been held in custody since.

The operation was preceded by a quarrel between the 47-year-old father of the woman and the 28-year-old ex-partner – triggered by the hospitalisation of the 22-year-old a few hours earlier.
