Cocaine driver flees in paranoid delusion from police at Attersee
A 35-year-old German drove cross-country under the influence of drugs and hid in gardens. Officers found several grammes of cocaine in the car.
Cocaine drive ends with flight through gardens in Wildenhag
According to ooe.orf.at, a 35-year-old German caused an unusual police operation on Wednesday at Attersee. The man drove from Germany to Straß im Attergau – apparently under considerable cocaine influence.
In the village of Wildenhag, he steered his vehicle onto a meadow for no apparent reason. In doing so, the sump was damaged and the car lost oil. Via an embankment he reached a farm track, where he parked the vehicle – engine running, door open – and fled on foot towards Attersee.
Police pursued the man, who attempted to hide in several gardens – unsuccessfully. When the officers caught up with him, he stated that he was being pursued himself and therefore had to flee. He asked the police officers several times whether they were really actual police officers. Subsequently, he admitted to having consumed too much cocaine and asked for help.
When the vehicle was searched, the officers found several grammes of cocaine. The 35-year-old did not possess a driving licence and refused the clinical examination. He is being reported to the district authority of Vöcklabruck and to the public prosecutor's office in Wels.
