Police hunt for confidence thief in Gratwein-Straßengel
An unknown woman is believed to have stolen a gold chain worth several thousand euros from a 70-year-old pensioner on 17 March in Gratwein-Straßengel. According to krone.at, a search for the suspect has been under way since then.
The incident occurred at around 12:30 a.m. when the pensioner parked his car in the carport of his house. A heavily made-up woman suddenly appeared. Assuming she needed help, the man got out of the vehicle.
Sexual advances as a distraction tactic
The unknown woman then approached the 70-year-old in an intrusive manner. She is said to have touched him in his intimate area and offered him sex. Only after the pensioner declined and freed himself from a two-armed embrace did the woman leave the scene.
At first, the man checked his trouser pockets and was relieved to find that his wallet was still there. Only later at his apartment did he notice that his gold chain was missing – apparently stolen without his notice during the physical contact. About a week after the incident, he filed a report with the police.
