An initiative-based check conducted during the night of 23 June enabled law enforcement in the Basse-Meuse police zone to seize a significant quantity of narcotics.
156 grammes of heroin seized during road check in Basse-Meuse
During the night of Tuesday 23 June 2026, at around 1 o'clock in the morning, officers from the Basse-Meuse police zone conducted an initiative-based check on a vehicle. The reason: an offence concerning the vehicle's registration.
During inspection of the vehicle and its passengers, officers discovered 156.54 grammes of heroin. A flick knife was also found. The three people present in the car were remanded in custody, whilst the vehicle was seized on judicial decision.
Subsequently, one of the three suspects was brought before an investigating judge. The magistrate decided to release him, but under certain conditions. The judicial inquiry continues actively.
