Glass attack in bar at Oupeye: young man summoned to appear in court
Police proceeded on Sunday with the arrest of a young adult aged 22 named Naïm. The arrest followed a particularly brutal brawl that occurred in a bar in the municipality of Oupeye, in the province of Liège.
The incident broke out in the evening. A local resident had presented himself at the establishment to complain of the noise caused by the clients. Naïm, who was inside and had apparently consumed alcohol, came out to confront the complainant. During the confrontation, he broke a glass against the latter's head.
The injured party had to take time off work for two days. The suspect, who did not appear in police records, was placed in custody.
The Liège public prosecutor's office was seized of the matter. The magistrate chose to refer the individual to the criminal court by means of an expedited summons.
