A burglary took place on Tuesday afternoon in Ans, near Liège. Two people have been placed under arrest in connection with this matter. A third person involved in the offence remains at large and is the subject of an active search.
The offence occurred around 2 p.m. The suspected perpetrators entered a residence by forcing a glass door located at the rear of the building.
Once inside the premises, the thieves carried out a thorough search. Their haul consisted of a wristwatch, clothing items and various tools.
The investigation benefited from the local video surveillance system. Police officers were able to identify a vehicle whose registration plates matched those of the vehicle used by the burglars.
This lead resulted in the arrest of two of the three suspects. The last one managed to evade the authorities and fled.
During their custody, the two arrested men chose not to speak. They invoked their right to remain silent in response to police questioning.
The prosecutor in Liège was seized of this matter. She opted for a judicial investigation and requested the issuance of arrest warrants against the suspects.
