A routine traffic stop escalated into a car chase in late 2025, resulting in the seizure of several kilograms of cannabis and, several months later, the dismantling of two growing sites containing more than one thousand plants.

A year-end traffic stop in 2025 triggered a large-scale drug trafficking investigation. Faced with law enforcement, a driver chose to flee. Intercepted shortly afterwards, his vehicle contained nearly four kilograms of cannabis. The two passengers were arrested immediately.
The Narcotics Squad took over the case. Months of investigation made it possible to trace a network. A judge then authorised seven raids which took place on 23 June. Six individuals were questioned: two were remanded in custody, the others released but placed under judicial supervision.
The raids revealed the existence of two illegal greenhouses, one in the Brussels municipality of Ixelles, the other in La Louvière in Hainaut. Investigators found 1,150 cannabis plants there. In addition to the drug, the material seizures include a vehicle, approximately thirty grams of cocaine and more than 5,000 euros in cash.
