The assizes jury in Liège has sentenced Ethan De Graaf to 18 years in prison. The 23-year-old man from Seraing was found guilty of the murder of his former partner Alexandra Périlleux, also 26 years old, and of inflicting blows and injuries causing work incapacity.
The facts took place in the night of 5 August 2023, around half past one in the morning, in Flémalle. De Graaf called the police himself after delivering a series of blows that cost his ex-girlfriend her life. During the trial, he admitted that he was the perpetrator and described how he had applied a chokehold on the victim without ever letting go.
The jury and the court found him guilty of murder and of inflicting blows and injuries on his partner. Following a final deliberation, the sentence of 18 years imprisonment was imposed. The information is sourced from RTBF.
