Four years' imprisonment sought against footballer Mohamed Mouhli for violence in Liège
The Liège public prosecutor's office has increased its sentence request against Mohamed "Midou" Mouhli, player for Olympic Charleroi, following medical examination of the victim. Judgment is expected in October.

Four years' imprisonment and a fine: this is the sentence sought by the Liège public prosecutor's office against Mohamed "Midou" Mouhli, a footballer active at Olympic Charleroi and former player at RFC Liège, before the Liège correctional court. DHnet reports that the defendant is being prosecuted for wilful assault and battery committed against a 26-year-old Liège resident, on 7 November 2023.
At an initial hearing, the public prosecutor had limited its request to a custodial sentence. However, following a medical examination of the victim, the prosecution considerably increased its position.
An assault at the victim's place of work
The incident took place in the Aldi store in Saint-Nicolas, where the young woman named Kelly worked. That day, she had just learned that her lover, Mohamed Mouhli, had a partner. She had informed him of this. The player went to her workplace in a state of great anger.
The store manager had told the defendant that Kelly was not present, but Mohamed Mouhli spotted her. "He rushed towards me and struck me very violently," she stated. She said she had received several punches, had fallen, and had struck her head against the ground. Hospitalised immediately afterwards, she was suffering from a concussion.
The defendant downplays the facts
After the incident, Mohamed Mouhli had been deprived of liberty before being called in and then released. Before the judge, he downplayed his behaviour, admitting only to having given a slap and having swept the young woman.
The victim's lawyer, Me Faulisi, claimed more than 30,000 euros in compensation for the harm suffered. For their part, the defendant's counsel, Me Molders-Pierre and Me Hubermont, pleaded for a reduction in damages and requested that their client benefit from a suspended probationary sentence, autonomous probation, or a custodial sentence.
Judgment will be rendered in October.
