Three-year suspended sentence for Alleur man convicted of domestic violence and rape
A 44-year-old man living in Alleur has been convicted of violence, harassment and rape against two of his former partners between 2020 and 2023.

The courts imposed a sentence of three years' imprisonment with a five-year probationary period on Fabian, aged 44 and residing in Alleur. The charges covered the period 2020-2023 and concerned two of his successive partners, according to DHNET.
The individual presented an attractive appearance: university education, sporting activity, stable professional situation and charming manner. This image contrasted sharply with his behaviour in the private sphere.
Two women testified to the abuse they suffered. The defendant verbally humiliated them, beat them, suffocated them by neck compression and forced them into intimate acts against their will. Medical examinations corroborated their accounts by revealing multiple bruising, particularly on the neck.
A first victim, contacted via a dating platform, filed a complaint on 4 December 2020. Rapidly, the relationship turned into a nightmare. During the summer and autumn of that year, the man imposed sexual relations despite a clear refusal. To win her back afterwards, he feigned depression by claiming to be starving himself and preventing himself from sleeping.
He also sought to intimidate her by mentioning a contact in the police force who would have guaranteed him impunity.
Other episodes of brutality occurred in 2021, then at the end of 2022. The aggressor presented himself at her workplace, at her home and in a commercial space to harass her. The psychological distress was so intense that it necessitated hospitalisation in a psychiatric unit. The accused even went so far as to present himself there to approach her.
During the hearing, his statements proved to be particularly revealing. Regarding a sexual assault, he conceded: "That day, I particularly perceived her lack of desire." He described his tactic: "I press myself against her, she ends up giving in. I immobilise her against the wall, I hold her wrists or I block her with my weight." He denied any aggression.
To justify his repeated approaches, he cited the need for "clarifications". He also sent one of the complainants a message attributing responsibility for his own actions to her.
The public prosecutor's office had sought five years' imprisonment, including a custodial portion. The court ultimately upheld nearly all the charges, whilst pronouncing a more lenient sanction.
