On Friday evening at Chaudfontaine, a local resident prevented a break-in. She observed three men lying in wait near the home of an absent neighbour. Concerned about their presence, she contacted the property owner, who was on holiday.
The police, alerted shortly after, intervened promptly and apprehended the three suspects. The three men are Romanian nationals.
During their interrogation, two of them admitted the facts. The third exercised his right to silence. This refusal to speak was not lost on the magistrates, particularly as the individual in question is not facing the courts for the first time.
He is already the subject of an investigation for similar offences committed at Chaudfontaine at the beginning of the year. Given this alleged repeat offence, the investigating judges requested an arrest warrant against him.
