Seven detained in Oruro with 90,000 bolivianos and fuel headed to La Paz protests
FELCC agents in Oruro intercepted two vehicles with seven occupants from Cochabamba's Tropics region. They were carrying 90,000 bolivianos, fuel and documents, and according to police were heading to La Paz to join blockades.

A vehicle checkpoint operation carried out by FELCC in Oruro resulted in seven people apprehended and various objects seized. The occupants of a minibus and a pick-up truck, all from Cochabamba's Tropics region, were intercepted as they travelled towards La Paz.
Three men were travelling inside the minibus. Officers confiscated wiphala flags, fuel, minutes and credentials from them. The pick-up truck carried three other men and a woman; among their belongings a sum of 90,000 bolivianos in cash was found.
The head of the Oruro FELCC, Roger Marcelo, explained that those detained are from Cochabamba and that their objective was to reach La Paz to support the blockades and demonstrations taking place in that city. The official added that the money and documents have already been forwarded to the Public Ministry.
The seven arrested are under investigation for money laundering, an offence that punishes possession of resources whose legal origin cannot be justified. The Prosecutor's Office will have to determine whether there is a connection between these funds and the financing of activities linked to social protests.
The operation is part of the reinforced controls that law enforcement maintains on roads in the highlands to prevent the entry of persons and materials that could intensify conflicts in the seat of government.
