Remains of bricklayer killed in 'crime tribunal' found in banana plantation in Itanhaém
Remains and fragment of t-shirt of José Aparecido Ferreira, 63, were located in Itanhaém (SP). Four suspects are being investigated for kidnapping, homicide and concealment of a body.

Skeleton and clothing fragment identify bricklayer executed after false accusation
The Civil Police located remains and part of the t-shirt of José Aparecido Ferreira, 63 years old, during a search of a banana plantation on the São Paulo coast, according to g1.globo.com. The material was sent to the Legal Medical Institute (IML), where DNA tests should confirm the identity later this week.
The area was pointed out by Murilo da Silva de Oliveira, arrested after being identified in monitoring camera images showing him kidnapping José. The search involved the participation of police officers, the victim's family members and regional workers, in Itanhaém, on the São Paulo coast.
Kidnapping filmed by cameras
On 18 February, cameras recorded Murilo pursuing, assaulting and overpowering Zezinho — the nickname by which the bricklayer was known — on Rua Emídio de Souza, in the Jardim Oásis neighbourhood. The victim was on a bicycle when he was approached.
According to police, Murilo's mother was driving the vehicle in which Zezinho was forcibly placed. She allegedly handed over the steering wheel to Orlando Tavares de Souza whilst Murilo and Ednaldo da Silva, known as 'Bahia', kept the victim immobilised in the back seat. The car was later found set on fire in the city.
The group acted under the allegation that the bricklayer had harassed children. The DIG (General Investigations Department) of Itanhaém is investigating the case, but the accusation has not been proven.
Four investigated, two at large
Murilo, Orlando and Bahia are being charged with kidnapping, homicide and concealment of a body. The wife of Orlando, owner of the vehicle used in the crime, is also being investigated for involvement in the murder.
- Bahia was arrested on Friday (9) at the house of a relative in Campinas (SP), where he was in hiding.
- Orlando was detained on 5 September in São Paulo. In his statement, he claimed to have only driven the car and attributed responsibility to Murilo.
- Murilo was arrested on 28 August. His defence denied, in a statement, any involvement with practices of crime tribunal or with criminal organisation.
- Murilo's mother and Orlando's wife are considered at large.
G1.globo.com reported that it had not located the defence of the other individuals involved by the time of publication.
"Everything for him was always about solving it"
A relative of Zezinho, who preferred not to be identified, told g1 that the bricklayer would have turned 64 in November. Throughout his life, he was dedicated to his five children and even built their house with his own hands.
"He taught us to understand people, to pay more attention, to show respect and affection. And especially to be strong. Is there a problem? Solve the problem. Everything for him was always about solving it," the relative said.
