As Google News CH — Crime reports, a 41-year-old Bernese woman concluded a smartphone purchase and mobile phone contract in her mother's name — without her knowledge and without paying.
The woman entered a mobile phone shop with her mother's identity card and a forged signature. She concluded both a device purchase contract and a mobile phone contract, providing the email address of one of her mother's former acquaintances as the billing address.
When payments failed to materialise, the providers could not initiate debt collection proceedings — the details were simply false.
The public prosecutor's office of the Canton of Bern found the 41-year-old guilty of fraud and forgery of documents. The penal order stipulates a fine of 30 daily rates of 30 francs each, totalling 900 francs. In addition, there are fees of 650 francs — bringing the total burden to 1,550 francs.
