Several witnesses spoke to the Swiss newspaper "Blick". One woman reported that visitors initially thought the shots were fireworks. Then someone shouted "Everybody down!" Her group hid under the DJ booth, and a woman was hit by a bullet. All those present were subsequently taken by police to a gymnasium. "It was terrible," the witness said.
The performing DJ, known under the name Tekibo, also commented in an Instagram story. What happened at the rave was "absolutely heartbreaking". "Techno and raves should be a place of freedom and safety," he wrote. He had lost an important person and would withdraw for a certain period of time.
Aargau cantonal police asked the public to send video and image material from the crime scene to their Instagram channel in order to support the investigation.
