Police operations across the island led to the arrest of 13 people and hundreds of charges against drivers for various offences.

Extensive police operations in urban zones throughout the country were completed with the arrest of thirteen people. The operations were carried out the previous night with the aim of preventing serious criminal activity, maintaining order and strengthening public protection.
The arrested individuals face charges for impersonation, unlawful hiring and employment of workers, failure to appear in court, arson of a motorcycle, as well as violations of traffic regulations.
During the night, officers stopped and examined 1,084 drivers and 297 passengers. At the same time, 36 inspections were conducted at premises to address breaches of conduct, from which two charges resulted.
In traffic control checks, 816 charges were issued for various violations of traffic regulations. Additionally, 22 cases were identified that are under investigation.
Of the total charges, 208 concerned speeding and 109 concerned mobile phone use while driving. In the course of the inspections, nine vehicles were seized.
Additionally, 173 alcohol checks were carried out, from which 11 charges resulted. Two people who were driving tested positive in preliminary checks for substances.
