18-year-old arrested in Ammochostos with 23 counterfeit €50 notes
An 18-year-old youth was remanded in custody following the discovery of 23 counterfeit €50 notes all bearing the same serial number.

According to Cyprus Mail, police officers from Ammochostos district arrested an 18-year-old in connection with a case of possession and circulation of counterfeit notes, following an anonymous tip-off.
The investigation began when officers were informed of two €50 notes with identical serial numbers that had been found on an employee of a local business and were immediately confiscated.
Authorities subsequently identified the 18-year-old suspect and found two further €50 notes with the same serial number in his possession. A search of the hotel room where he was staying revealed an additional 19 notes of the same denomination and bearing the same serial number.
A total of 23 counterfeit notes were confiscated as evidence.
The defendant was brought before the District Court of Ammochostos in Paralimni the same Tuesday, which issued an order for three days' remand in custody. Police investigations are continuing.
