25-year-old arrested in Larnaca with drugs following pursuit
A young man from Larnaca was arrested following a nighttime pursuit in a rural area of Dromolaxia. Cannabis, cocaine and weapons were found in his vehicle.

During a nighttime patrol in a rural area of Dromolaxia, police officers spotted a parked vehicle that raised their suspicions. The incident occurred shortly after midnight and involved officers from the local station in the area.
When uniformed officers approached to inspect the vehicle, the driver attempted to escape by accelerating. In his attempt to flee, he struck a police vehicle. To stop the pursuit, the officers deployed their weapons with warning shots.
After the vehicle was immobilised, the driver was identified as a 25-year-old man from Larnaca. The suspect assaulted the police officers and was arrested on the spot for multiple offences.
In a search conducted inside the vehicle, the authorities located and seized various items. Among these were approximately 100 grammes of cannabis, a small quantity of cocaine, four loaded cartridges and a knife.
Two police officers were injured in the altercation and were transferred to Larnaca hospital. After receiving medical care, they were discharged.
The arrested man is to be presented before the judicial authorities in Larnaca for the issuance of a detention warrant.
The case is being handled by the Drug Enforcement Service in coordination with Kition Police Station, whilst investigations are ongoing.
