Police have arrested a 35-year-old man for the theft of 22 aluminium beams from a business in Ayia Napa, with a total value of €40,000.

A 35-year-old man has been remanded in custody by the authorities as he is being investigated in connection with an incident involving the theft of materials from a business in Ayia Napa. The incident is reported to have occurred between early January and early June 2026.
Specifically, on 5 June 2026, a 58-year-old business owner approached the prosecuting authorities and reported that 22 metallic aluminium beams had been stolen from an open plot of land belonging to his company. The financial loss is estimated at around €40,000.
The investigation that followed led to evidence against the 35-year-old. Based on these findings, an arrest warrant was issued. The suspect was arrested on the morning of the same day and is being held in custody, and is scheduled to be presented tomorrow to the Famagusta District Court for the issue of a remand order.
