A serious incident involving a sharp object occurred in the early hours at a Limassol residence, resulting in a 45-year-old being hospitalised in critical condition and a 40-year-old being held in custody.
According to reports from the website Politis, the younger man made a telephone call to the 45-year-old and invited him to his home with the aim of resolving personal differences between them. The older man arrived at the location accompanied by two relatives.
During the meeting, the homeowner attacked the visitor using spray and a blade. The 45-year-old was seriously wounded in the back and was transferred urgently to Limassol General Hospital, where he underwent surgery. His health condition is considered critical.
The alleged perpetrator, before his arrest by Limassol Police, had been taken to a private clinic to receive first aid for a head wound he had sustained. After receiving medical care, he was discharged and arrested shortly afterwards.
Investigators from Limassol Police are conducting an investigation into the offences of causing serious bodily harm and unlawful possession of a sharp object.
