Stadium bans issued after APOLLON–PAPHOS Cup final
Nicosia District Court issued stadium exclusion orders on 2 June 2026 against three men aged 32, 29 and 19 years old, according to reports by Philenews. The cases arose during policing of the APOLLON–PAPHOS football match, which took place on 29 May 2026 at the GSP stadium.
In the first case, the 29-year-old and 19-year-old face charges of conspiracy to commit a felony, possession of explosives and possession of an offensive weapon. The court ordered their release on conditions: both signed a personal bond of €10,000. A stadium exclusion order was also issued against them until the next hearing, which was set for 2 July 2026.
In the second case, the 32-year-old is accused of assault, assault against a police officer, obstruction or hindering a public order officer, possession of explosives and possession of an offensive weapon. The court imposed a personal bond of €2,000 on him and an obligation to report to a police station once a week. In this case too, a stadium exclusion order was issued, with the case set for trial on 6 July 2026.
Both cases are being tried under legislation addressing violence in sporting venues.
