Threatening messages led to evacuation of Mall of Nicosia and CEMES in Nicosia
Police mobilised on Saturday afternoon in Nicosia following threatening messages sent regarding the Mall of Nicosia and the Centre for Middle Eastern Research (CEMES). Authorities proceeded with precautionary evacuation of both buildings.
Threatening messages led to evacuation of Mall of Nicosia and CEMES in Nicosia
On Saturday afternoon, the Cyprus Police were put on alert following receipt of threatening messages concerning two locations in Nicosia: the shopping mall Mall of Nicosia and the Centre for Middle Eastern Research (CEMES).
Strong police forces rushed to both buildings. For precautionary reasons, the authorities decided on the evacuation of both spaces, whilst simultaneously launching investigations to examine the threats. Police implemented the prescribed security measures at the two locations.
Officers were present at the sites and took the necessary actions.
